Resolution – Penny Blackburn

In that farthest place he lost his will
to keep sailing
over treacherous depths;
saw the opportunity
to make an antimony fortune,
grow ore-bound roots
into the newly settled land;
made static his life,
beached upon the scalding, scolding sands
of Resolution Bay.

Penny Blackburn lives in the northeast of England and writes poetry and short fiction. Her publications include pieces online in Bangor Literary Journal, Atrium, Black Bough and Ink, Sweat & Tears and in print with Paper Swans Press, Reader’s Digest, Poetry Society News, Broken Spine and Maytree Press.
